Treating Sleep Apnea
Treating Sleep Apnea with the HERBST Appliance with DynaFlex
Imbalanced Sleep
With imbalanced sleep, life in general may begin to feel off-balance. With Obstructive Sleep Apnea, sufferers may be logging in the hours nightly, but finding themselves feeling tired upon waking all the same.
This unfortunate situation can result in various symptoms. Some of which are more mild, like a dry mouth and throat, to more disruptive symptoms like headaches. Ultimately these can lead to more severe conditions such as high blood pressure and heart conditions.

While the above suggestions can indeed be a great help, there remain many cases that call for measures which are more drastic. These entail the CPAP (a machine which uses air pressure to clear the airway via a facemask), or even surgery. These options can be expensive and uncomfortable, and are usually last resorts.
Luckily, there is another fantastic option, one which is state-of-the-art and relatively new. This is known as the Dynaflex sleep device! The HERBST appliance with Dynaflex is an intraoral device, comprised of two oral trays. The trays are for the top and bottom teeth, respectively. They can be customized through the use of adjustable lugs (by a professional).
Essentially, what the Dynaflex does is increase the user’s pharyngeal space. This makes it easier for air to travel through the upper airway. The Dynaflex is available only by prescription, as each is made to fit a respective patient’s mouth perfectly; no over-the-counter replacement would suffice, or work as effectively.
Many have found relief for their Obstructive Sleep Apnea with the Dynaflex. Along with increased upper airway air circulation, the Dynaflex helps get rid of other inconvenient symptoms, like snoring, which can otherwise interfere in day to day (or night to night) life.
Try combining the Dynaflex with consistent exercise, and a reduced intake of the substances listed above. While the Dynaflex is very effective in and of itself, being proactive like this can help reduce any remaining symptoms further, and of course promote overall well-being.
